I had an awesome weekend! Why? Because it was my birthday!

It all started from Friday night when my dear in-laws arrived with a gorgeous bouquet of Australian native plants. I love these flowers, all uniqueness in one bunch.

Saturday was full of surprises. From the best present ever, to absolutely delicious Fish & Chips for lunch in The Boat House.  All was perfect.

BlueBerry AshBTW if you have never been at The Boat House in Palm Beach, then add this place to your visit list, it’s awesome. Check these plants at the entrance!

BlueBerry AshNext day was quieter, touched by sweet little treasures. Like these fresh lemons and gorgeous camellias from the in-laws garden, they were so kind to share them with me.  Their garden is just bursting with winter harvest at the moment.

Bag DIY + blog adjustments

It’s been on my mind for a while. After long consideration, I have decided to bring in a few new topics on this blog. So besides current posts on printing, drawing, shop updates etc I will introduce bit of recycling, diy, making & crafting and simple cooking into my blogging routine.

I enjoy recycling. Its about creating with purpose, using what I have got and giving another go to an thing. It’s what I grew up with and its how my mind works. So I thought I will put this to good use and even maybe that will encourage you to do the same.

Here is my first recycling post for you.“Re-use a towel, make a bag”. It not a particular precise step by step tutorial, but a just an idea giver. Let me know if you enjoyed it and would like to see more.

Heavy rain woke me up this morning. I think it was trying to spoil my day 😉 But it’s not that easy when I have new fabrics to work with that just arrived.

On the weekend I have been making market bags, using some fabric leftovers that may not have printed well. I managed to turn scraps into two perfectly scruffy bags, hand printed, handmade and a bit of hand stitched. I don’t know why, but I got attached to them quite a bit, it’s kind of silly, but I hope they will be found by someone special who will love them to bits 🙂 Meanwhile they will be in my shops here and here waiting for that special to come along…

Today I will be sewing … scarfs and more scarfs! Last week I purchased more gorgeous soft fabrics and was again experimenting with dyeing it. This week is serious business, working on final steps of making scarfs and making it perfect 🙂

Other task for today is to print more of this fabric in different colours.  I have quilted market bags ideas with this Chained print flying in my head, hope I will be fast with my scarf sewing and will get to print at least few…

Isn’t there something sweet, comforting and cosy about blankets and quilts? I just love them.  I thought for some time about making one, but never could fully commit myself to such a big project.   Making this summer blanket for day dreaming turned out to be an organic process after printing the last batch of fabrics.

I had big plans for this morning: get up early, finish pillow cases that I have started last night and complete everything that is on my to-do list for today, but ahhh… the rain, miserable weather kept me in bed longer, I know the is not the weather to blame, but sometimes it’s nice to blame something else and not yourself. Anyway hours later than I planed I have finished my pillow cases. Now it’s time for shop update 🙂

There are a few things happening here today. First of all a little sneak peek of my new tutorial that I am working on. Remember that abstract experiment with painting on fabric? Well I am using purple abstract for my Fashionista Bag tutorial, combining it with leather. Stay tuned, I will complete it in a next few days.

Another thing that I am working on today is building up stock for pre-Christmas studio market, tea towels and pillow cases are to be made today. I will post more information about our market later here and on my Facebook page.
